Cybersecurity Systems Engineer, ISSO, TS/SCI with a Full Scope Polygraph Security Clearance Required, Onsite in Annapolis Junction, MD

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Systems Engineer, ISSO for a great opportunity Annapolis Junction, MD. The Cybersecurity Systems Engineer will play a key role in securing complex systems, ensuring compliance with federal cybersecurity frameworks, and protecting sensitive information. A DoD 8570 IAT Level 1 is required. Candidates must have an active TS/SCI with a Full Scope Polygraph security clearance. This is a 100% Onsite position and not open for Hybrid and/or Remote.

Cybersecurity Systems Engineer Responsibilities:

– Serve as the Information Systems Security Approval Authority for systems under your control.
– Provide technical and compliance support for the organization’s Information Assurance (IA) program.
– Plan, coordinate, and enforce IT security programs across various systems and projects.
– Maintaining the operational security posture for mission-critical information systems.
– Developing and enforcing information system security policies, standards, and methodologies.
– Supporting day-to-day security operations, including system monitoring and incident response.
– Conducting vulnerability and risk assessments to support system certification and accreditation (C&A).
– Evaluating security solutions to ensure they meet requirements for handling classified data.
– Managing system configuration, changes, and security impact assessments.
– Preparing and reviewing key documentation including System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment – Reports, Certification & Accreditation (C&A) Packages, and System Requirements Traceability Matrices (SRTMs).

Cybersecurity Systems Engineer Qualifications:

– Must have an active TS/SCI Full Scope Polygraph security clearance.
– DoD 8570 IAT Level 1 or higher required.
– Possession of a DoD 8570 IAM Level 1 or higher certification is required and will be verified as part of the interview or offer process.
– Candidates need a Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. 5 years of additional Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
– Need 10 years of experience as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Experience to include at least one of the following areas: Knowledge of current security tools, hardware/software security implementation; communication protocols; and encryption techniques/tools.
