HPC Software Engineer, TS/SCI with a Full Scope Polygraph Security Clearance Required, Onsite in Annapolis Junction, MD

We are seeking an HPC Software Engineer to design, develop, test, deploy, document, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software for HPC (High Performance Computing) systems based upon documented requirements. Critical for an HPC Software Engineer is either a very strong math background and/or a very strong computer hardware background. One or both is required for the HPC Software Engineer to be able to understand the intricacies of the HPC architecture that is being targeted by the software being developed, or to understand the complex mathematical principles which underlie the software applications being developed. The HPC systems might include, but are not limited to, processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and systems which incorporate data repositories, data transport services, and application and systems development and monitoring. Candidates must have an active TS/SCI with a Full Scope Polygraph security clearance. This is a 100% Onsite position and not open for Hybrid and/or Remote.

HPC Software Engineer Responsibilities:

– Review and test software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results.
– Resolve software problem reports.
– Utilize software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
– Provide specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Open Source Software (OSS) and/or Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS)/Government Off-The- Shelf (GOTS) software in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.
– Working knowledge of Configuration Management tools and Web Services implementation.
– Work individually or as part of a team.

HPC Software Engineer Qualifications:

– Must have an active TS/SCI Full Scope Polygraph security clearance.
– Experience with High Performance Computing (HPC).
– Must have a strong Math background and understand the complex mathematical principles.
– Experience with large Data Sets.
– Experience with Real Time systems.
– Experience with Open Source Software (OSS).
– Experience with Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) or Government Off-The- Shelf (GOTS) software.
– Experience with Configuration Management and Web Services.
