Cloud AWS Software Engineer, TS/SCI with a Full Scope Polygraph Security Clearance Required, Onsite in Annapolis Junction, MD

The Cloud AWS Software Engineer will have a primary focus of supporting all aspects of agile software design and development for a full featured service hosted on large scale computer clusters and AWS Cloud Infrastructure. Duties include design, development, testing and integration of capabilities, optimization & performance tuning, and operation & sustainment functions. As the Cloud AWS Software Engineer, you are expected to perform requirements analysis, software design, development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution at a high level of proficiency and independence. You are expected to communicate directions and provide guidance to more junior Programmer/Analyst, as required. The Cloud AWS Software Engineers must be adept at developing solutions which balance cost, capability, availability and resilience. Additionally, the Cloud AWS Software Engineers may be responsible for evaluating project needs, determining tasks and durations, and generating and reviewing designs for technical accuracy, completeness. Candidates must have an active TS/SCI with a Full Scope Polygraph security clearance. This is a 100% Onsite position and not open for Hybrid and/or Remote.

Cloud AWS Software Engineer Qualifications:

– Must have an active TS/SCI Full Scope Polygraph security clearance.
– A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in a related technical field is required. An additional 4 years of experience can be considered over a degree. Note: A degree in Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar degree will be considered as a technical field.
– Candidates need at least 8 years of experience in Software Development/Engineering, including requirements analysis, software.
development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
– Expertise in AWS Cloud Architecture design.
– Experience with Large Language Models (LLM) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
– Proficiency in using AWS SDKs and APIs.
– Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Cloud Formation or Terraform.
– Expertise in Continuous Integration, Deployment, Testing and Monitoring practices.
– Java programming for distributed systems, with experience in networking and multi-threading.
– Agile development experience with source code management practices and tools.
– Well-grounded in Linux fundamentals and knowledge in at least one scripting language (e.g. Python, Ruby, Perl, etc.).
– Familiarity with microservices software development techniques and container-orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
– Knowledge of security and compliance best practices.
– One of the following certifications is required: AWS Certified Developer-Associate, AWS Certified Machine Learning-Specialty, AWS DevOps Engineer Professional, Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD).
– Elastic Certified Engineer or Elastic Certified Observability are desired.
